The Musée de l'Elysée and the bookshop are open according to the usual opening hours. The café Elise is closed.

In compliance with the directives issued by the competent authorities and in order to respect the protection measures, events organised by the museum require prior registration. It is not necessary to register to visit the exhibition.

Opening hours

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
Last admission at 5:30 pm.

Late opening until 8pm on the last Thursday of the month.

Closed on Mondays, except on public holiday.
Closed between exhibitions (see calendar of exhibitions).

Café Elise

The Café Elise remains temporarily closed until further notice.


From Saturday July 18, 2020, the bookstore is open according to the usual opening hours.

Du to the temporary closure of the museum from September 2020 to the Fall of 2021, we invite you to come and enjoy free admission from June 2019 onwards!

The museum is situated 30 metres from the Avenue de l’Elysée, opposite the Montchoisi skating rink / swimming pool. You can also access the museum from the garden of the Musée Olympique.

Visitors with reduced mobility

The Musée de l'Elysée is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility, with exception to the exhibitions in the basement and the Salle Lumière. The current exhibition is presented across two floors. We regret that the basement is not wheel chairs accessible. The elevator mesures 90 cm (door) x 140 cm (depth).


Strollers are not allowed inside the museum. A baby carrier is at disposal at the reception desk.


Dogs are not allowed inside the museum, except for guide dogs.

Around a ten minute walk from the CFF station in the direction of Ouchy.

The Future Museum at PLATEFORME 10

The Musée de l'Elysée will temporarily close its doors on September 27, 2020. The reopening is scheduled for the Fall of 2021 at PLATEFORME 10.
