Mario del Curto - Les clandestins sous le vent de l'art brut

The Mario del Curto exhibition covers twenty years of encounters and exchanges with Art Brut artists. Fascinated by their work, del Curto has maintained contact with these unique individuals since 1983. His visits with them have yielded large quantities of photographs that tell the story of very specific worlds. His images give viewers a window on the day-to-day context in which the artists operate – an often fantastical context that reflects their particular obsessions.

Del Curto’s photography also, however, adds a new dimension to the perception of Art Brut artists. He thrusts thesecreative people into the forefront of his images, thereby according them a very rare prominence.

The Mario del Curto exhibition "The Outlanders forging ahead with Art Brut" was produced by the Musée de l'Elysée in collaboration with the Collection de l'art brut.
