Jin Yuan, from the series "Grow From Elapses", 2016-2017
From 01 July to 27 September 2020
Launched in 2005 and repeated every five years, the reGeneration project devoted to emerging international photography will be holding its fourth event for the Musée de l’Elysée’s 35th anniversary. In 2021, shortly before it moves into a new building designed to meet its needs, the Musée de l’Elysée hopes to make reGeneration a gateway between a past to promote and a future to map out. Rather than going through schools of art and photography to choose works to exhibit – as has been done in the past – the Musée de l’Elysée contacted the 180 photographers of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions to follow their progress and ask them, this time, to suggest candidates for reGeneration4.
From May 29, 2019 to September 27, 2020
Until its temporary closure in September 2020, admission to the museum is free as it prepares to move its collections to PLATEFORME 10, the new arts district near Lausanne Train Station. In the meantime, the public is invited to discover the ongoing work on the collections in the lofts specially refitted for the occasion.
Cartography of an exhibition
Accessible online the reGeneration_web platform proposes an interactive map of the exhibition for the purpose of spotlighting the community that has grown up around the project over the last 15 years. By playing around with the filters, the viewer can draw the links between photographers, institutions and schools. The platform also provides access to the artist’s biographies.
