"Humanitarian Principles. Here & Now" in Geneva

From December 04, 2019 to March 22, 2020

The contemporary art installation "Humanitarian Principles, Here and Now" is on view until March 22, 2020 at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva.

The exhibition More than a game! presents 36 photographs to highlight different themes, times, and places in relation to sport. Some of the photographers are well-known figures such as Alexandre Rodchenko, Ella Maillart, Monique Jacot or Raymond Depardon, others are anonymous.

The exhibition consists of exhibition prints made from original works held in the collections of the Musée de l'Elysée. As the exhibition title suggests, sport is presented here not only as a game, but also as a diverse, socially relevant and sometimes humorous phenomenon that can reflect on social and historical processes, but that can also generate them. Furthermore, technical developments and the establishment of pictorial genres in sports photography can also be traced in an exemplary fashion.

On the eve of the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Lausanne next January, we are proud to present this exclusive exhibition, the result of a partnership between UBS and the Musée de l'Elysée.
