WAR FROM THE VICTIMS’ PERSPECTIVE, PHOTOGRAPHS BY JEAN MOHR

After the United Nations Office at Geneva, War from the Victims’ Perspective, Photographs by Jean Mohr starts its tour at the Arkhangelsk regional museum of local lore in Niamey from the 26th August until the 30th September, 2016.

The Musée de l’Elysée and the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs present an important exhibition of photographs from the Jean Mohr Collection held by the museum. A committed defender of human rights, Jean Mohr is one of the best representatives of humanist photography.

Particularly timely on this, the 150th anniversary of the ICRC and of the First Geneva Convention, the issue of victims of armed conflicts is crucial in the international debate. Swiss photographer Jean Mohr (1925) appears today to be one of those best placed to address this subject. His images are known not only for their graphic qualities but also for their great sensitivity, respecting the victims’ dignity.

In 2013, the exhibition begins its world tour.
