La Nuit des Musées

Saturday 25.09.2010 - Sunday 26.09.2010

Epfl - Rolex learning center

WE ARE ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS OF THE PUBLIC SPACE !

From 2pm to Midnight
Installations and debates at the Rolex Learning Center

On the occasion of the Nuit des Musées 2010, in collaboration with Archizoom and the EPFL laboratory of visual communication, the Musée de l'Elysée restart the ‘flow’ at the Rolex Learning Center of EPFL.

In 2007, new amateur practices were the subject of an exhibition at the Musée de l'Elysée ‘We are all Photographers Now! : The rapid mutation of amateur photography in the digital age'. Designed in collaboration with EPFL, the interactive ‘image flow’ module was the highlight of the exhibition. This module also had great success at the New York Photo Festival in 2009.

The adventure continues around a specific theme: the public space. Can one photograph everything in the public space? What are its visual benchmarks? What is unusual about it? When does it become private? This theme will also be the subject of debates organised in parallel by Archizoom under its ‘Pecha Kucha Night’ which will take place at the Rolex Learning Center at 8.20pm.

Participate in the first exhibition at the Rolex Learning Center
Both amateur and professional photographers, anywhere in the world, are invited to participate in the project by uploading their images with this theme on the site www.tousphotographes.ch

Their photographs will be projected on the screens at the Rolex Learning Center during the Nuit des Musées on September 25th from 2pm to midnight. Each photographer will then receive by e-mail a view of each of their images projected at the Rolex Learning Center.
